IRRIGATION
COSTS
The irrigation cost is the result of
the sum of cost for equipments purchase, labour cost for installation,
management and
surveillance of equipments, and water cost, which includes energy cost
too.
The
analisys of costs, made in the farms were we made the comparison between
hose-reel irrigation machine and drip-system, evidenced that
the irrigation costs of drip-systems are enormously higher than those
of hose-reel irrigation machines, also with different farm management
and water availability (see Table n°5) |
|
 |
The above tables show as irrigation costs on different
cultivations are always higher for drip-systems, which require more investments
for the purchase of the equipment, labour costs, management, surveillance
and dismantling of the eqipment, and in any case they force nearly same
water and energy costs as for hose-reel irrigation machine.
The similar water and energy costs between the two irrigation systems
is a confirmation of higher water consumption of drip-systems, also
if they work at low pressures.
